Happy Pink Saturday!
I've recently shared the tables the More Creative Bee and I did for our County Fair. Today I'd like to share a special table we created in 2006 for the fair. We wanted to create a Pink Ribbon Table for Breast Cancer Awareness. Most of the credit for this one has to go to the More Creative Bee (yep, that's how she got her name - she is WAY more creative than I am).
We wanted to honor some of our friends who had suffered from breast cancer so we created a pink ribbon table.
We used a white tablecloth as the base and then ran pink ribbon along the four edges of the table. On the ribbon we applied the names of friends and friends of friends who had or have breast cancer. Strewn about the table were little loops of pink ribbon.
We used some lovely china that belongs to the More Creative Bee's mom. (She could probably have a blog just dedicated to all of her great sets of dishes.) The flatware was sterling that also belongs to the More Creative Bee's mom. The crystal is my mom's.
The centerpiece was a piece of pink Depression glass that we put a candle in and pink rose petals and more pink ribbon loops.
One of my favorite things we did at this table was to have two special friends of ours as two of the guests. Both of these sweet ladies have survived breast cancer. It made it that much more special to me that we included and honored them.
Thank you so much for stopping in on this Pink Saturday.
I hope you can stop by Beverly's How Sweet the Sound for more celebrations of all things pink!
The pictures are from 2006 and before I learned a little bit about picture taking from all the blog tips so I apologize for their quality.
The table is lovely...and what a sweet tribute. Maybe you and your mom should be called MORE CREATIVE BEE (you) and EVEN MORE CREATIVE BEE cause you are both very talented!
ReplyDeletethis is a lovely table setting indeed...i agree with Cheri.... God bless the breast Cancer survivors. We have a couple survivors in our family too. Blessings this weekend, Hugs, Mica

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a lot of thought and love went into creating this lovely table. It's a very worthy cause and very needed to fight this dreadful disease.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Char
The pink everything is adorable. You could even change up a few details and use this for a sweet sixteen family meal or a new baby girl in the family.
ReplyDeleteYa';; are so creative!!Thanks for dropping in on "Mornin Glories" Looking forward to some of your show and tells and you selling some vintage.
Hugs Cindy from Rick-Rack and Gingham
Pretty pink tablescape! Happy PS
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely table, as always. I agree with the others. Don't sell yourself short. You are just as crative as "More Creative Bee".
ReplyDeleteSadly, I think most everyone has been touched by cancer, either through a friend, family member or have battled it themselves. That was a really sweet thing to honor with your beautiful tablescapes.
Hope you have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Martha
