A Sampling of My Vintage Kitchen Linen Collection

I'm so excited to be joining The Colorado Lady's  Vintage Thingies Thursday for the first time.  I've enjoyed the vintage treasures showcased here and I thought I'd jump in too.  I hope you'll have a chance to stop by and enjoy some more Vintage Thingies.

We finally got some gorgeous sunshine today and I was at work until after dark so the pictures are a little dark.

I've been collecting these tablecloths for about 15 years.  Most of them have been less than $15 or much less.

This first one I bought at a local antique mall.  I just loved the blue ruffled eyelet print and the colors.  I just love red, blue, and green.

And can't you just picture the neighbor ladies coming over a cuppa' tea?
This next one was in a box of vintage linens I got at an estate sale for $1.  I couldn't believe all the treasures in that box.

The last tablecloth I'm sharing today was my step-grandmother's.  It's my favorite.  It just makes me think of summer, lunch under the trees, lemonade, and good friends.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Wouldn't you like to come over for a lunch served on one of these vintage tablecloths?  Maybe we can one day! I would be delighted!

The Birthday Theme Revealed

A decision has been made!  A theme has been chosen!  Are you ready?

Baby Bee's 9th birthday party will have..... (trying to keep the anticipation going....)

A CUPCAKE THEME!

We found the cutest little prizes for games at my Target (yep it's mine - you can't have it)....

and these picture frames that we'll decorate somehow....

Best of all, I searched on etsy and found these....

but Baby Bee's will be with cupcakes and these colors....

You have to see what Carli at Dimpleprints has to offer.  I wonder if she has a blog?  I'll have to ask her.

How cute is this?

I found this skirt and shirt (separate listing) here on etsy from Daffodillie's.

Ahh - who doesn't love etsy?  Just type in cupcake and look what you find!

I haven't come up with all the activities yet, except for cupcake decorating.
Do you have any ideas?
I just love planning parties and all the fun little details you can do.

Thanks for stopping by and please don't hesitate to offer any ideas.  I'm always looking for new inspiration.

Oh, I nearly forgot, I'm having a little giveaway.  To be entered you can leave a comment here or on the original post.  Here's a sneak peek of the back cover....

Again, I'm delighted to have you stop by.  It's always a treat.  How was your latte this time?  I hope you enjoyed it.

Spa Giveaway! (sort of)

Okay, I better come clean!

It's really a spa-like giveaway for this delightful little book, Chin Deep in Bubbles by Melissa Placzek.  Just visiting it's pages will make you feel like you've visited a spa.  It's full of sweet little luxuries, spa recipes, and lovely ideas.

Doesn't she remind you of Susan Branch?

Now I'm sure you're asking,  just how can I get this delightful little book?  Well, there's only one way (besides Amazon) that I know of.  Just leave a comment on this post or any of my posts between now and Saturday, January 16 at midnight.  Sadly I will only be able to send this to residents of the United States or Canada.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, January 17!   Just one entry per person and you do not have to be a follower, but feel free to mention this little giveaway on your blog.

Good luck and thanks for stopping in for a visit.  I hope you found it relaxing!

Just a Teensy Bit More for Christmas

Isn't it sweet?  How do you save your baby's special projects?

Thanks for stopping by!  Still no sun here for what seems like years now, so most of my pictures are too dark - holding out for a little sunshine!

A Little Winter Love

Just a little winter lovin' before all that heart racing fun of Valentine's Day.  These decorations don't come out until all of the Christmas is put away.  (or at least "staged" for putting away)

Apothecary jar pretties....

one filled with snowflakes cut out with the mighty Cricut...

one filled with snowball-like ornaments....

("borrowed" the mitten ornament from Baby Bee's Christmas tree)
and one filled with faux snow and faux snowflakes.

Coffee table with new (to me) rustic bowl and pine cones.

Pretty snowflake platter picked up at the Bybee Pottery store in Louisville this summer.

Another little platter on display in the living room.

Some snowman love!

Last shot of these great little ornaments.  Picked them up at Walmart last Christmas on clearance.  They just remind me of snowballs.  This basket is a centerpiece on our kitchen table.  If you want to see the banner we have hanging above the table you can see it here.

Hope this post finds you enjoying a warm white chocolate latte or a steaming cup of herbal tea. Let's all try to stay warm and cozy.

Thanks for popping in for a visit.  Your visits are always welcome (and so are your comments)!

Keeping Neat Rednesday Style

I've been so focused on Christmas red that I was racking my brain trying to think of what to share today...

Then I started cooking dinner and...there they were....

my aprons!

The first one is from Gooseberry Patch...

The second one I got on ebay, but it's from Williams-Sonoma originally....

The third one is my favorite and Worker Bee gave it to me last Christmas.  It's from Cost Plus World Market.  Can you guess why it's my favorite?  That's right!  'Cause I'm Queen of the Kitchen!

I'd like to thank my special model for today's Rednesday post....Baby Bee!

And here's a bonus apron - Baby Bee's very own polka dot apron.

Thanks again Sue from It's a Very Cherry World for hosting Rednesday for us all.  Be sure to stop by to see what other sweet little reds there are out in Bloggerville.

And thank you for stopping by!  Hope you're staying warm and cozy!

Baby It's Cold Outside

Now I know our cold can't compare to the bone chilling cold of the snow and wind chill that much of the rest of the country feels, but it's still cold here due to the fog that comes and moves in like that Mucinex commercial.  It permeates everything!  Even our newspaper is soaked in the morning from what Worker Bee and I call "fog drip."

So, even though we don't get snow, I thought it would be fun to make a little banner to decorate our kitchen nook.  I do a little "cold" decorating for the month of January before the red and pink of Valentine's Day.  I'll show you more of my "brrrr" decor on another post.  I'm hoping for a little sunshine soon....

First, get out your beloved Cricut....

I used two cartridges - Mini Monograms and Doodletype.  (Did I mention that ebay is a fantastic place to buy Cricut cartridges?  I bought three cartridges for about what one costs in a retail store!)

After I cut out the letters I applied glue to them and then...

glitterfied them.

Love the glitter trays I bought at Michaels from the MS line.  Here they are all ready to assemble...

I used some silver tinsel glitter I bought for like $0.25 at Joann's last Christmas to string them on.

Can you see how foggy and gray it is outside?  That's how it's been for days!  I miss you sun!
At least it's warm and cozy inside and there's always a latte waiting to be made...

I'm linking up for the first time at Cottage Instincts for Make It Monday! So if you're coming by from that sweet blog- WELCOME!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!  Love to see you!
