Today I am meeting with my dear friend, More Crafty Bee, to plan our projects for the County Fair. We have entered the fair for at least 10 years now and every year we have so much fun with it. When she moved out of the Big City to the mountains, I told her she could only move if she stayed in the same county. Lucky for her (and me), it was.
We always meet for coffee to sketch and discuss and debate what will work. More Crafty Bee and I ALWAYS meet for coffee. If I remember correctly, she was the one who got me hooked with a cafe mocha at Barnes and Noble. The rest, as they say, is history.
We are doing two table settings which means we are decorating/setting/tablescaping two 40" x 60" tables with two different themes.
We are also doing two Christmas trees this year. All the ornaments, etc. for the trees have to be handmade - no store bought goodies. So, we better get going, hunh?
The Fair Theme this year is - The Wild Wild Best!
This is where it's tough this year. Last year, the theme was How the West was Fun! Am I the only one who thinks these themes are remarkably similar?
This is our How the West was Fun table last year.
Well we do have some ideas but I best not share them here - at least not until we are all set up and the judging is done.
We also had a Christmas for kids table with a gingerbread theme (we chose that theme).
Have you ever entered your county or state fair?
What are some of your fall traditions?
Wanna come along for a coffee?
We would welcome your ideas!
