Some Inspiration for Baby Bee

Baby Bee is officially a tween, but unofficially she's a teenager - after all she says, "I'm now in the double digits, Mama."  I love that she still calls me Mama, although she doesn't usually do that in public.

So thanks to some gift cards and a giveaway I won from Blondie's Journal, we have some new inspiration for her room.

When she was born, we had all primary colors - especially blue, red, and yellow.  When she was three (and we realized what a girly girl she was) she had pink and green.  It was (and still is) a very sweet room and although Baby Bee is very sweet and caring, it just doesn't suit her right now.  So it's time to start working on a change.  She loves the color aqua and the beach so guess where we're going.......

I picked up these two aqua/turquoise bowls/dishes at the thrift store.  Can't you see her jewelry stored in these?
And here's the duvet that will provide the color palette.
Add polka dot sheets and a solid lime green quilt......
and we have the start for a new room for Baby Bee.  We'll be working on all the paint color, furniture, and other details.  Probably won't get it finished this summer, but maybe by Christmas.

Here's some more inspiration for her room......

........all are on my Pinterest board for Baby Bee's room.

  1. love the beachy direction that you're heading in for your sweet daughter's room. i think it'll be darling. it makes me think of anne morrow lindberg's 'gift from the sea'.

have a wonderful, sunshine filled weekend.

  2. Oh that seashell mirror is neat! Sometimes the Dollar stores have the seashells where one could make the mirror fairly inexpensively! I think I stopping at the store! lol
    take care

  3. Awww, that's going to be so pretty and refreshing when it's all put together!

  4. LOVE IT! She is sooooo lucky to have a Mommy like you! ;)

  5. Love those colors. The Aqua and Green are so young and fun! Have fun redoing her room. It's a great Mama/Daughter project.

  6. I remember when my daughter was that age. So much fun!
The room choices you've both made are adorable.
I can't wait to see the end results.Love the colors.
I especially like the diving lady!

  7. I think a trip to Ventura to walk the beach should be in your future. The aqua and green/blue sea glass would be perfect for a frame in her room. The glass washes up on the shore there. The color selection is so cute.

  8. I love that you added polka dots to the mix!! Can't wait to see how it turns out!

  9. This is going to be so cool! Love the colors. Can't wait to see the finished product (even if we have to wait until Christmas!)

  10. I love the things you have for Baby Bee's room! Where oh where did you find those polka dot sheets????

  11. Love the happy colors. Perfect for a lovely young lady...oops baby bee.
I'm sure it will be lovely. Can't wait to see the finished room.

    Til next time...
God bless you and baby bee.

  12. It is going to be perfect. We have the same green quilts in one of the girls rooms. She has orange and aqua with it with owls mixed in.

  13. Gosh, it seems like Baby Bee was a wee little girl when you started blogging, and now she's growing up so fast! I can't wait to see her room, because the duvet and sheets and everything else you have so far look like a really great start!

Thank you for buzzing by and taking time to leave me a little note. I always enjoy hearing from my friends.
