A Mess of Vintage Finds

My sunroom is a mess.  I don't know how else to describe it.  It's a mess!  Right now I have stray chairs, a dresser I'm thinking about keeping for myself, items I've picked up at thrift stores and estate sales to sell on etsy, and items I saved from my mom and dad's house for treasuring.

It is making me crazy, but I have not had any time to tackle it.  I have so many wonderful treasures to show you and so many things to list on etsy.
Just a few vintage smalls.  Some are already in my etsy shop.

Picked up these bowls at an estate sale next door this past weekend.

Love the straws!

This is a fabulous old quilt I picked up that was made from upholstery fabric samples.  I need to get photos and list this unique quilt.
While I was picking up things from my mom and dad's I found my bicycles from when I was a kid.   It's a Schwinn Hollywood from the mid 70s.  It was the bike I learned how to ride on.

Isn't it fun?

Now I think I want to use it as "yard art."  Like these pictures I found on Pinterest.

This is my personal favorite!
So?  What do you think?  Can I make my bike look this adorable?  After all, I have fall and winter to figure out exactly where to put it.

Thank you so much for buzzing in for a visit.
I am hoping to find more time to visit as soon as we finish with the Big County Fair and Baby Bee's School Carnival.  September and October are the two craziest months of the year for us.  Thanks for hanging in there with me.

I sure hope you also take a minute to leave a comment on my giveaway post.  I so appreciate all the visits and comments and followers who have supported my blog.  I'm giving away a $25 gift card to Amazon AND a $10 Starbucks gift card to one lucky winner.
Just click on over and leave a comment here to be entered.

  2. Great bike! Love the 'bendy' straws! LOL

  3. How cool is that, finding your old bike?! Yes, you should use it as yard art ~ it'll look great. Maybe paint it a bright, happy color too!

  4. Wow, now doesn't that bike seat look familar?! I learned to ride on a banana seat bike named samantha. :)

What a great bowl set! It gives me hope to keep looking!

I'll go check out your give away. I'm having one too if you're interested! ♥

  5. I am SOOOOO looking for an old bike to have in my side yard under a big tree. I am kind of addicted to Pintrest, lol. Not enough hours in a lifetime to tackle everything I have pinned, lol. Thanks for giving us little peeks at your trasures ;)

  6. Fantastic bike!!!! have a great thursday.

  7. Hi Sweet Bee, I too love the bike yard art. Wow, its beautiful. You are blessed to still have your bike to use, double enjoyment! Memories from the past and the memories you are making now.

Wishing you lots of tranquil moments tucked in among the busy ones.

  8. You bet you can make your bike look cute and spectacular! And it will be the best since you have some history with it! I too love the one all tucked into the garden/flowers.

  9. That is fantatic that you found your bike. It will be great lawn art.

  10. Great finds! I love the bike! We picked up a similar one recently and my hubby is in the process of cleaning it up. And, I think he loves it too much to sell it!

  11. I had a blue schwinn bike like that when I was young -- in the 60's. I have a similar one now that we take to the beach with us when we go on our yearly trip. Yours would look great tricked out for the garden.

  12. I have stacks of items I need to list on Etsy so boy do I understand. I love the bike and yes you can make it into cute yard art! I always love those bikes when I see them! Hope you have a great weekend!
    hugs, Linda

  13. Hey Sweetie! We have the same bike!
    Mine is out year's.....
42 years old...oh I also use my tricycle in my smaller raised garden (47 years)..also year round...both are green and a nice rusty patina. Have fun dressin em up!

  14. I have a "den" that is a real mess. Everything that is out of season or I don't have room for goes in I know how you feel! ;-D

Love the bike! I have an old pink Schwinn that I inherited and I've also thought of dressing it up for display! How nice that your parents saved yours, it's so cute!

  15. Oh, I think the bike definitely has potential for yard art. You could put some baskets on the side and back. You'll have all winter to plan what you're going to do.

  16. Love the bike and I can't wait to see what you do with it next spring!
Looks like you have some great items!

  17. Your bike is already the perfect color. I think it will make adorable yard art and the memories are just an added bonus!

  18. Ooooh! I love that bike! I want one to decorate my yard with too. I so understand messes. I am remodeling our house and I seem to have messes in every room right now. I'd love to come poke around your porch...some of those items look pretty intriguing :)

Thank you for buzzing by and taking time to leave me a little note. I always enjoy hearing from my friends.
