I Found the Mother Lode (and Mother Can She Carry a Load)!

Do you have fun coming up with your titles for your blog posts?

I just love playing with words and sometimes you have to grin and bear it with me.

So what mother lode did I find?

Well Fabulous Phyllis (my friend that had a charming shop in our town, but was forced to close due to the economy) and I went out to an estate sale this weekend (more on that later) and we buzzed into the consignment shop where she is currently selling her upcycled furniture and other delightful creations.

And there.......there in HER booth.....was something I have desired for a long, long, long, time but never thought I would find.  And it is so cute!!!  I have to confess, I was giggling with delight.  Really.  Giggling a lot.  You might have even called me giddy.  I would certainly have called me giddy.  (For heaven's sake, I'm still giggling about it as I write this post.)

Well, my dears, just FEAST your eyes on this!

Vintage inspired fabric!

Crocheted trim!

Red and white gingham!

Red and white polka dots!

Aqua wheels!

Can't you just picture me wheeling that about at a flea market? Or how about at a farmer's market?
Did I mention that someone just gave her the cart and then she sewed the liner?
I am SOOOOO glad no one spotted it before me!

And there just might be a field trip planned to go to the Rose Bowl Flea Market this spring!  Bessie will be sure to come along.  Yes, I think her name is Bessie.

Well Bessie and I hope you have a fabulous week.  I know I will because every time I see her, I'm going to have that same cat-who-swallowed-the-canary grin on my face.  And.....
I might even giggle.

Thanks for buzzing in!

  7. I am so jealous! I would have been doing the happy dance. My cart is so dull and I have been looking for a cover for a long time. They are great to carry all those great finds. Now I am really on the hunt for a cover and think a new paint job is in the near future.
You did find the Mother Lode!

    Have fun with Bessie!

  13. I saved the cart my son used to use when delivering newspapers... It would look pretty neat all gussied up like Bessie! Enjoy:@)

  14. GAAAH! Bessie is perfection! I can totally see her being wheeled about at the flea market, or just parked somewhere inside your home. Looove her!

  15. Love everything about your little card, right down to those cute aqua wheels! My mom has a similar one... since I already own a piece of that fabulous retro fabric, perhaps I can finagle it over to my house... it doesn't have those cute aqua wheels but that could be changed with a bit of paint... and I'd name her Lucy :)

    You're one lucky shopper!

  16. The aqua wheels put that little cart right over the top, not to mention the sweet liner. I hope the you and Bessie make it to the Rose Bowl -- I've never been and will have to live vicariously through you!
