Hey! You CAN'T break these plates. Well, I suppose if you really put some effort into it you could.
My family - seemingly like many other families around the world - really enjoys eating outside.
So who wants to pick up broken dishes when you're out enjoying an al fresco meal? Not me!
And can you guess what color all my plates have in common? You guys are getting too smart - that's right RED!
We'll start with my cherry plates! Part of the Target Summer product line from about 5 years ago. My nieces and daughter enjoy these quite a bit.
The strawberry dishes are part of a coordinated set I also picked up from Target about 4 years ago. They are salad size.
These are the dinner plates. Used these just last night for dinner.
Here are the matching bowls.
And finally these were in a swap from Denise at Bloomin' at Beagle Run Cottage.
Just perfect for the Fourth of July!
Fun summer reds!
Let's see now I can invite 11 of you over and we won't have to worry about broken dishes on the patio. Who wants to come? We could have salad with fresh strawberries, field greens, chicken breast, and homemade poppyseed dressing. Maybe some buttermilk spice muffins with honey butter? Just a nice light lunch with some sparkling berry lemonade and you.
Won't you come join Sue from It's a Very Cherry World for the brightest party in blogland?
Thanks for dropping in for a visit. It's always so fun to hear from you.
What cute plates and bowls :) I love these and no worries about breaking any of them. I'd come over in a heart beat :) Have a great evening! ~ Laura

I'll be there! But you better give the plate with the flag and roses to someone else. It might not break but it might accidently fall into my purse, jello salad and all!
ReplyDeleteWow....I don't know which set I like more...but I love the oens from Target! I wanted to get those a year or so ago, but no space.....:) ANd I think it would be wise to do a plate count if we all come over for lunch! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour solution for outdoor dishes is much more stylish than mine which is random thrift store plates...someone I know (ahem) drops them quite regularly. Must be all that fresh air! Your berry plates are so dang cute. :-)

ReplyDeleteHey, I'm so happy you stopped over. I'm glad you had fun seeing my vintage fun. And, by the way I'm the Frito Kid/Frito Bandito generation 1960-. I don't remember the older icons either..LOL Most have been updated..except for the Sunbeam Girl..she hasn't gone punk...yet. I just remember seeing them on old ads shown vintage magazines...saved from old newpaper and mag recipes, and TVLand used to sprinkle old tv commercials during reg programming.
ReplyDeleteI really like the artworks in everyday items during the 20's-60's
The colors, the lines, just seem gentler..if thats the right word.
Anyhow, I'll have to take a rain check on the lunch tho, have to work today. I love those strawberry dishes. Must've missed those at Target...darn. That gingham plate is still the best and those calico looking dishes at the end are neat too. I'm seeing red..I've gotta see if I can find those now. Thanks a lot..you've started anither vintage hunt!
Such happy plates. I especially love the ones with the cherries , and the plaid ones with the flowers and flags! So pretty all.

ReplyDeleteOh shoot, I'm the 25th commenter, so I guess I can't come over for lunch :^( If there's not enough room at the table, I'll sit at that little table outside that you mosaiced!
ReplyDeleteWell it's obvious that I need to start popping in to Target every week, because I've missed alot of adorable dishes from there! I love them all, and I have those red gingham ones, which are my all-time faves!
Happy REDnesday!
Carol
I love your red white and blue dishes! I'm quite the butterfingers with dishes, so it's a very good thing they're unbreakable as I'd love to come for lunch! YUMMY! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Rednesday,
Sally
Oh, how I love the charm of all those dishes. Now I will be looking for some cute dishes with red on them.
ReplyDeleteI love all the dishes - just perfect for a summer picnic! You must have such great organization for all your wonderful treasures!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those plates. I used to have some in a different pattern and they were perfect for so many different uses - from a family BBQ to Christmas dinners and even to a little girl tea party (twould hold plenty of cupcakes or animal crackers in a most delightful manner). And I never had to worry about being too klutzy because, as you rightly point out, they're almost impossible to break. AND very affordable. AND look so great. I especially love your flag and flowers one. That is so cute! Thanks so much for sharing them with us for Rednesday. :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable dishes! I've been thinking of plastic/melamine instead of paper. I love the vintagey sweet look of yours. And I want to come and have lunch with you! Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteSherry
I'll be there with bells on if I can eat off one of those pretty plates!
