Progress.....
This is the door project.
All taped off. For what you ask?
Some of you might be figuring it out by now, but I'm still keeping you in the dark.
Thanks Baby Bee for holding that moulding together for me, but girl, you need a fresh manicure!
The door did get painted, but it's so damp and cold outside I couldn't do any more on it. I have to let the door cure before I add the moulding to it. Ooooo, does that give you a clue?
I hope to have it completed by next weekend. Hope we get some sun tomorrow and then I can finish it up.
More random.....
Since we had way too much fog drip yesterday to paint, I snuck out to my local consignment store and thrift store.
I found these gorgeous brown transfer plates. Two of them are Wedgwood.....
and the other is Meakin.
They're perfect for the new direction my kitchen will eventually go in.
And I also found this cake stand and dome.
It's really not so pretty now.
But look at what Miss Mustard Seed did with the one she found. She is such an inspiration! I love visiting her blog.
I probably won't keep the dome because it's plastic and pretty yellowed - unless one of you have a great idea for it.
I also found this great portable file. I'm keeping all of my ebay tools, notes, etc. in it. Handy to have it all in one place and I lurve that it's vintage!
My last find was this great market basket.
I have a bigger basket that is similar to this one. I'm just imagining taking this to the farmer's market this summer.
Remember this sweet little kitchen towel I found at Hobby Lobby?
Well I found matching tags at Michaels!
Makes me wish for summer right now! I am so excited for our kitchen garden this next spring and summer.
Thanks for buzzin' by today! Your visits are always such a delight in our little cottage.
My giveaway is still open and if you want to enter it, please leave a comment on the giveaway post by clicking here!
You've found some really fun things! Lovin' the plates and cake stand, can't wait to see the finished projects:@)
ReplyDeleteWhat lucky finds you acquired! That cake stand would have been something I passed by but after seeing that inspiration... well now I'll have to be on the look out for one. LOVE the brown transferware, I passed some of that up last fall and am still "kicking myself" over that. You make me want to get out to my local stores now too!

ps, can't wait to see what the secretive project is all about :)

Love those brown transfer-ware plates. That is one of the things on my wish list for this year.
ReplyDeleteChalkboard door? I found the same Meakin plates at a flea market this past summer! Imagine finding the same things so far apart from each other.
ReplyDeleteAll your other things are great too.
Can't wait to see what you do with the door. Love all your finds ... I have the same cake plate I have been intending to paint off white. I've had it for years (I bought it new) and my lid eventually cracked. I saw the tags at Michaels too along with lots of ME things!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Donna
I do love the basket..I can vegetables hanging out in there also!!
ReplyDeleteThe transferware plates are so neat looking..around where I live they cost a fortune.
I think you are making a door for your pantry?
Looking forward to seeing the finished project.
Hugs...Cindy from Rick-Rack and Gingham
I love that big basket, towel and tags. What great finds!!!
ReplyDeleteYou really have been busy. Great finds. My worse problem is I hate to shop and get very overwhelmed in stores. Makes me wonder what I'm doing here...lol...Oh yeah, enjoying your shopping trips.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! The brown transfer ware is lovely, looks like another collection is being started.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love my transferware and I want those plates. Lucky. Anyway an idea for the cake cover is you could use it in the garden to start new seedlings under. Sun would get thru and they would stay warm. I bet you are doing a chalkboard on that door. I want to do one on my door to my service porch from the kitchen. Maybe you could give me some pointers.
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds!! Oh, how I wish I could have such a good thrifting day.
ReplyDeleteStill anxious to see the finished project!
Oh and my sister was just complaining tonight about her daughters nails looking just as Baby Bee's does. She was told it was very much "in style" to have chipped nail polish. My sister is having a hard time with this new style!!
Fondly,
Ann
