What chores do you enjoy?

I have to be honest.  I do not enjoy housework.  Right now I need to vacuum and dust big time.  The bathroom needs cleaning and the guest room/studio is a disaster.

However, there is one chore I thoroughly enjoy.
I love to iron!  I love how you can quickly make progress through a stack of linens.  I love how you need to pay attention (so you don't get burned, of course) but that you can also have a conversation, listen to music or the radio, watch TV or a movie, or just plan your next project.  I love how things go from sloppy to neat and tidy.

Ahhh....that was fun.

What is your favorite chore?  Or do you have one?

  3. Oh my goodness Sweet Bee, I love to iron too! Do NOT like other house work, but ironing can be so lovely. I love to iron a cotton shirt, or a cotton table cloth. I do draw the line at sheets ;-) They just go on the bed after tumbling in the dryer.

  4. I can't think of any household chores I like but I do like the satisfaction of a nice clean house! That sprinkle bottle next to your iron! My mum had one when I was young and I totally forgot about it until I saw yours! Is it new?

  5. He,he,he,...I can't even find my ironing board, much less my iron. Good thing we're a t-shirt and jeans kind of family!

I suppose I really should pick SOME chore and do it before I end up on some TV show!

I understand what you mean about ironing though, I guess I'm the same way about doing dishes.

Beautiful weather today, huh? My daughter threw a fit 'cause she wanted to go swimming! Ha! Little doesn she realize how cold that water is!

  7. Sweet Bee-You can have your ironing! I only iron when I sew, and it's been a long time since I have sewn. I like to wipe down the stove and counters nice and clean and wash the bathroom sink. Even if the rest of the room is a mess the sink and counters are clean. (see email for sprout directions) Thanks for your comments.

  8. I use to enjoy cleaning till I had kids. They are all SO messy. Between my twin little boys, teen age daughter and husband I clean day and night and it drives me crazy! My Grandma use to love to iron and I loved watching her:-) Happy Valentines Day!

  9. I don't like to iron, but will do it if I must! I actually enjoy cleaning house - I really like a nice and tidy place to live. I feel like I can't accomplish much if I don't have a clean house. I have a list of house cleaning chores for each day, that way I am not overwhelmed! By the way - I love your blog!

  13. OMG, I have plenty of ironing you can do. That is the worst chore I think I can think of. I love to vacuum. I do it almost daily. My husband calls me the vacuum queen. I do like my cloth napkins ironed. I do it when I have, too. Yesterday I got some new sheets and washed them. Now I will iron the top sheet and cases, but not the bottom sheet. No one will see it, but me and hubby.

  14. I remember as a lil girl sitting at the kitchen table doing my home work or drawing and watching mum iron and it was so enjoyable to her.
    She seemed so content!
I guess that is why I love ironing everything in sight!
I also am a fanatic about washing windows! I can't stand dirty windows!

My least favorite chore is the bathrooms. UGH......
