Oh boy! I get to join in for the first time at Brag Monday at the Graphics Fairy.
Lynne - stop reading right now!
This is my very simple project. I took a little wooden plaque I picked up at Michaels. I then adjusted the size of the vintage birthday postcards to fit the plaque (proportions weren't ideal, but I had to work with what I had). Of course I got the vintage birthday card images from my favorite vintage graphics source - The Graphics Fairy
The Mod Podge came out and away we went. After drying, I "painted" the edges with glue and dipped them in glitter. Oh yes, I also used a brown ink pad to distress the edges a little, but I didn't know what I was doing. With practice I'll get better.
I sent these to my blog friend for her birthday along with some other goodies. I'll show you more of those later.
What will she do with three birthday plaques? Celebrate big time! Or give them to a friend! Or whatever she wants!
Thanks for coming by and visiting. Maybe you'd like to make some with me the next time? I have a few plaques left over and I've got tons of glitter. Wouldn't that be fun?
Please stop by the Graphics Fairy to see what other crafts and art have been created using Karen's graphics.

It's me -- the luckiest friend EVER! Just so you know -- the plaques are even more gorgeous in person. What Sweet Bee didn't mention is that she coordinated the glitter to the ribbon colors. I have all three plaques propped up at my computer. Now that I'm allowed to, I'm gonna read her next post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I especially like the colors on the third one :)
