Baby Bee's Closet - Organized!

You know, July is not always a good month for me.  Last year, right after we got back from our 13 states in 15 days trip, I had to have emergency hernia surgery.  (Not to be confused with hemorrhoids which I ALWAYS mixed up until I had a hernia.  Now I have no confusion!)  Then this year I got this awful viral infection that wiped me out for two weeks and is still making me tired.  So next summer I'm going to start praying June 1 that I stay healthy ALL summer long.

Anyway, I do digress.  As a teacher, I don't really have a lot of time to work on home projects during the school year, so I tackle them during the summer.  One of those projects is reorganizing closets.  I didn't get Baby Bee's done last year and boy has it shown all year long.  So yesterday we got it done.  Sewing Bee (my mom) came over and helped some too.  Let me tell you, she is a vacuuming fiend!  Thank goodness!
So we sorted all of her clothes into donate, ebay (I keep hearing how you can really do well selling kid's clothes in good condition, so I'm going to give it a try.), toss, and keep.  Baby Bee did a good job on letting go of her favorite (Yes, we had drama - she was kissing outfits goodbye, giving them hugs, looking at them longingly, etc.) outfits.
So this is what her closet looks like now.
Shirts are sorted by type......
We're going to get some of these fun foam door knob hangers and cut a slit in them.  Then we're going to label them with the type of shirt - short sleeve, sleeveless, etc.  I love this idea so much I'm going to get some for my closet too.
I just adore labels.
Then I went over to the wonderful Cathe's blog, Just Something I Made, and downloaded the sweetest green labels.  (Baby Bee's room is pink and green with touches of yellow and blue.)

Next up?  My closet!  It didn't get organized last summer either.

I'll be making a nice iced latte to help me through this next project.  Would you enjoy one too?  Maybe you'd like to keep me company while I organize?  Oh well, the thought was nice.

So what do you need to organize?  Isn't a great feeling when everything has a place?
Do you remember when I reorganized my pantry? It is still organized!  I love it!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  What a treat to see you!

  5. I love getting organized too - must be a family gene! I got a few organization projects done this summer, and finally completed my closet today (my last day of vacation...sob...sob...) except for my shoes. They're so hard to get rid of!

    Glad you're feeling better!

  7. I'm so glad to hear all is well and you're on the mend!

Oh! Thank you, I'd love an iced tea latte. :) I'm sorry you're getting all the heat in the center of the state - we've barely had a summer this year on the coast. Sending you some of our marine cover and cool mornings.

Oh gosh, the number of things that need to be organized over here are too numerous to be named WAH! And this was to be the summer we were going to do it too. Did it happen? Nuh uh.

I swear time speeds up in the summertime. (My husband is a teacher too - he's on "modified traditional" year schedule.)

Take good care of yourself and go slow!

  8. Oh...poor Baby Bee...I hope she won't be scared for life. I had to chuckle when you wrote that she was kissing things goodbye. It helps to have a Sewing Bee around to work with you I'm sure. Great job!

How cute that Baby Bee was kissing things goodbye - the closet looks great though!!! I think you have given me inspiration to organize my closets :-)

  11. Janelle - I'm a little behind in my blog reading but wanted to say that I'm thrilled to know you're doing better.

Sounds like you're the inspired, busy bee -- I'm not enthusiastic about organizing closets when I'm well, let alone when not feeling 100%. :-)
