Kitchen Reds Part 42

Does it seem to you like I have a lot of red in my kitchen?  If I am ever at a loss on what red to post for the delightful Rednesday party, I know I can always head for the kitchen.

So here we go - Reds in Sweet Bee Kitchen (for what seems like the 42nd time - although I didn't actually count them).
Want to get the best flavored syrup for your homemade lattes?  Then go buy some Torani syrup!  They sell it as World Market, Smart and Final, and BevMo.  Hazelnut is my personal favorite.
Boysenberry is not for coffee, but I suppose you could.  I love to add it to lemonade or sparkling water for a refreshing summer drink.  (Smooth segue here - Have you checked out my summer smoothie giveaway?)  Ummm - don't ask about the peanut butter syrup.  I thought it would be good as a mocha, but not so much. I haven't given up hope yet on it.  Someday it will inspire a delicious drink!
And how about this vintage inspired sign?
I'm sure I've mentioned that I live in a cottage built in 1951, right?  There has not been a lot of updating done so I have a hot water heater in my kitchen.  Luckily it is in a closet and this sweet little sign lives on the closet door.
And finally, my spoon rest and my two go to tools just hanging out on the stove.  (The stove that I wish would die, but I'm too stubborn to get a new one when the old one is still working. Are you listening stove? But please don't die tonight.  I kind of need you for tonight's dinner.)
Do you have silicone spatulas?  I'm not kidding here.  If you are still going old school with a rubber spatula (like my mother-in-law, the Quilting Bee) it is seriously time to upgrade to these beauties.  Mine are from Williams Sonoma but Target has them now too.  Would you guess that they are about 5 years old?  No, I know you wouldn't - silicone wears like magic!  If you do nothing else tonight, please, splurge on some of these hot little babies!

Well, now that you've checked out my reds, please go check out the other lovely reds at the Rednesday Party hosted by the lovely Sue! I'm so glad you stopped by!  And seriously - buy some new spatulas - you won't regret it.  After that, let's go get some coffee!  Sound good?

  10. Oh I see I am going to need some of those spatulas!! Too bad you weren't doing a give away!! I have not tried those kind! I have a water heater in one of my small bathrooms (my house was built in the 40's). But it gave out so we put one in our laundry room about 10 years ago. I can't believe that old heater worked for so lonG!!! It is still there because we had to do some tricky connections and they felt it was better to leave it!! How quirky old homes can be, eh??? My rednesday thingy is here:

  12. Love your post ;) I,too, have the Hazelnut Torani syrup and may just go make myself a hazelnut cappuccino (or maybe in the morning). I bought the Blackberry (what was I thinking?) and ended up using it like you do...in sparkling water (Italian Soda). Aren't we clever? Ooo, Peanut Butter sounds awesome...in a frapp or someteen. I LOVE your spoon rest, vintage Java Jolt sign, and red spatulas. I'm gonna get me one or two of them red spatulas...prolly at Target cuz sometimes the W-S store here acts like it's a priviledge to shop there or something ;) In fact, we did buy some Easter-color spatulas at W-S quite a few years back. Pink, soft yellow, and lavender, iirc. Well, Happy REDS, Sweet Bee~

  13. Thanks for visiting today. I think they paint bee boxes blue in Oregon in an effort to make the bees believe they are seeing blue sky and should fly! So far this spring we are not seeing much, in the sky, besides GREY. Silicone spatulas are incredible, I bought a hot pad that works really well, also.

  28. I'll take your advice on the silicone spatulas, although I still don't understand how it's possible to get that stuff hot without it melting!

  30. I love all your reds! Your spoon dish is so cute...do you mind me asking if there is a makers mark on the back, or if it's old or new? I love it!

I was curious about the peanut butter syrup. For some reason that was the first thing that caught my eye. I can't imagine it in coffee...perhaps hot chocolate? Hmmmm.

    Enjoyed your post!
