What is it about the colors they used in the 1940s? They always seem so doggone cheery!
Well this sweet little bouquet is from 1942. She was sitting in a little antique store for about $10. How could I resist her? (Yes, I know I tend to personify objects in my home - I can't help it - I get so attached.)
Thought she might enjoy a little outing for Vintage Thingie Thursday hosted by the wonderful Colorado Lady. I hope you have a chance to see what others are sharing.
Oh and look what got missed during the GREAT CHRISTMAS CLEAN UP. Why, yes, it is a sweet little vintage Christmas ornament just sitting all by itself on the bookshelves in the "library". It's one of two I was able to get from my grandparents after they passed on. And I thought I was all done with Christmas. Do you find you always miss putting away a thing or two after Christmas?

That painting of the flowers is just beautiful! The colors are so deep and pretty! I have a couple of stragglers too from Christmas, I put them away to keep them safe, hopefully by next December I will remember where! LOL
ReplyDeleteHow pretty!! Yes, I sometimes do find an ornament or two left behind. When that happens, I just put it inside the dining room buffet with my Christmas dishes. I always know to check there each year when I get the hoiliday decor out.

What a beautiful and cheerful picture. Reminds me of spring - sigh. I wonder if the brighter colors came about because of the depression ending or maybe because cleaner natural gas heating was taking over. Those pesky little Christmas doodads show up for awhile here, too. Rosie

I'll have to see if I can find some photos of your diningroom/library. That's something I've been wanting to do and I'll probably do it when our daughter goes off to college.
