This is my pretty little hanky collection.
Most of these have been picked up at yard sales, a couple are reproduction, and a few are from the Sewing Bee. I keep them in a glass jar on a shelf in our bedroom.
I don't get into them that often, so ....
imagine my surprise when I found this....
in the jar when I started to take photographs.
What a fun surprise to find this time of year!
She's not going back in the jar!
Are you ever surprised by some of the things you've collected and kind of forgotten about?
Thanks go out again to Cindy of My Romantic Home for hosting this fun weekly event. Be sure to stop by and see what others have to share.
So pretty to display your hankies in a festive candy jar! I love to collect hankies too.

I love old hankies. My mother always kept her in a triangle shaped plastic box in the corner of the drawer. When she passed, I gave the box and hankies to my daughter. We were just looking at them last night. I love the way you display them. I need to start looking as I have just the jar to put them in! thank you for the idea. And thank you for visiting junkblossoms! Come back soon!
ReplyDeleteI have always had a weakness for vintage hankies - not sure why. They're like little pieces of art to me and I'm always amazed how something so light and fragile-feeling can last for so many decades. -amy
ReplyDeletei love finding surprises like that ... it's the simple things that make our days so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOk, now I need to go through all of my hankies and see if I have a Christmas one! I honestly have no idea whether I do or not!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

I love old hankies and still carry one in my purse all the time...they remind me of my grandmother, she always had one tucked up her sleeve or in her apron pocket. I never thought about displaying them in a glass jar...great idea.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! And it's like getting Christmas gifts when you find it!

What a darling way to display your handkerchiefs. I would have been so happy to discover the Christmas one! :o)
ReplyDeleteAs for finding something I have collected ... I have been slowly adding to my fabric collection to create a quilt. I have several "scraps" of different colors and patterns. Recently I found some adorable red patterns and can hardly wait to piece them together!
